Miller was escorted by her parents Mark and Lisa Velker, with her banner presented by her brother, Seth; Fischer was escorted by her parents Joe and Sharon, with her banner presented by her brother, Chad, and sister, Kendra; Ghossain was escorted by her parents Nick and Silva, with her banner presented by her brother, Jona; Mancini was escorted by her parents Frank and Lori, with her banner presented by her sister, Anita; Abel was escorted by her parents Richard and Erica, with her banner presented by her sister, Kate, and teammate, Cheyenne Story, and Smith was escorted by her parents Ron and Nancy, with her banner presented by her sisters, Kaitlyn and Jennifer.

Junior team members Heather Haley, Gigi Campana, Haylee Klacik, Rachel Gobep, Lily Hodge and Cheyenne Story sang “The National Anthem” before the game to honor the six seniors.

“It’s hard to believe these six girls are seniors. They are a core group and I have been working with some of them since they were 11. I can’t believe this season is so far along to be honoring them already. I will miss them when they are gone,” said CHS girls soccer coach Phil Simone.

The Canfield High School Soccer Boosters hosted a reception in the high school’s cafeteria after the varsity team’s 8-0 victory over Boardman for the parents, family, friends and teammates of the six senior team members. The cafeteria was decorated by the parents of the junior players to honor the senior players, as is the Canfield High School soccer tradition.
