St. Elizabeth Health Center Auxiliary will meet at noon Monday in the Azalea Room at St. Elizabeth Health Center’s Boardman Campus. Adam Hirsh from the Jewish Community Center will present “What’s Available at JCC.”

CLASSES

Mahoning Chapter Daughters of the American Revolution’s next meeting will be at noon Monday at A La Cart Catering in Canfield. Sharon Snowden, State Constitution Week chairwoman, will present a program on Governor Morris’ wife, Nancy Randolph. COUNCILS

Youngstown Council of Catholic Nurses will meet at 12:30 p.m. Wednesday at The Manor, 3104 Canfield-Niles Road, Austintown. The speaker will be a representative of Yellow Brick Place. YBP supports and educates cancer patients by providing individual and group services in the tri-county area.

Youngstown Section of the National Council of Negro Women Inc. will have its monthly meeting at 11 a.m. Saturday at The McGuffey Centre, 1649 Jacobs Road. The executive board will meet at noon and the general meeting begins at 1 p.m. The council also will have its 37th Annual Membership Luncheon from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Oct. 18 at St. Mark’s Hall, 3560 Logan Way. The event will begin with the raffling of gift baskets at 11:30 a.m., and lunch will follow at noon. Dr. Sylvia Imler, interim director of Diversity and Multicultural Affairs at Youngstown State University, will be the keynote speaker. Musical entertainment will be provided. Donations are $25. Western Reserve Knitting Guild will meet at 7 p.m. Tuesday at Fair Park. The program will be on the Moebius Cast-on. Take your own pattern, a 40-inch circular needle and yarn.

LIBRARY FRIENDS

Friends of the Boardman Library will meet on Monday. Refreshments will be served at 9:30 a.m. and the program will begin at 10 on “The Valley’s Contribution to National Sports,” presented by Greg Gulas. Hostesses will be Betty Anzevino, Karen Jarosz and Amy Sposato. Guests are welcome. The public is encouraged to donate books, magazines, CDs and DVDs, which help to support the summer reading programs. Donated items are collected from 10a.m. to noon on the first and third Saturday of each month.

SOCIETIES

Mahoning Valley Dahlia Society will meet at 2 p.m. Sunday at Fellows Riverside Gardens in Mill Creek Park. Society members will review methods for digging, dividing and storing tubers for the winter. Any questions about saving dahlia tubers for next year’s garden will be welcome. There is no admission charge.
