A stabbing in a Philadelphia grocery store didn’t deter some customers who continued to shop even after a man was wounded in the face and neck.

Chief Inspector Scott Small said the 40-year-old suspect stabbed the victim Tuesday evening in a northeast Philadelphia Pathmark supermarket.

Small says the 50-year-old victim’s wounds left a “heavy blood trail,” but about 20 customers continued to shop near it even after they were told that it was a crime scene and the store was closed. He says some even wheeled carts through the blood trail and that there was “no way they could have missed the blood.”

The suspect was apprehended and Small says the victim was taken to a hospital in critical condition with deep lacerations.
