Man charged with throwing cat from moving car
WARREN
Police charged John Simoudis, 43, of Edgewood Street NE, with misdemeanor animal cruelty after an off-duty Warren police officer reported seeing him throwing a cat out the window of his moving car Wednesday.
An on-duty police officer was advised by the off-duty officer at 9:25 p.m. to make a traffic stop on the driver. The off-duty officer said he saw the cat being thrown out the window on Buena Vista Avenue NE.
The off-duty officer said the cat “landed hard on the roadway, and then got up and ran to the bushes.”
The on-duty officer made a traffic stop on Washington Street near Park Avenue. The man denied knowing anything about a cat, but he was arrested and later written a summons for misdemeanor animal cruelty. His vehicle was towed.
