Grand jury indicts Youngstown man on child-porn charges

YOUNGSTOWN — A Mahoning County grand jury today indicted a Hollywood Avenue man on several counts that he had downloaded child pornography.

Paul Rektor, 35, was indicted on a direct presentment on three counts of illegal use of a minor in nudity oriented material; eight counts of pandering sexually oriented material involving a minor, a second-degree felony; and 20 fourth-degree felony counts of pandering sexually oriented material involving a minor.

Rektor was arrested at his home Tuesday by police after an undercover officer tracked images of child pornography to his computer.

Reports said Rektor admitted to officers he knew about the child pornography on his computers. Reports said Rektor was a teacher at Youngstown Christian School until he was laid off in June.
