Warren police arrest 15-year-old in gun-related altercation

Staff report

WARREN

A 15-year-old boy was taken into custody Tuesday afternoon after witnesses said he fired a weapon during an altercation with another juvenile on Vine Avenue Northeast.

A witness described the male as wearing a red hooded sweat shirt, and the witness gave police the name of the suspect.

While responding to the call at 2:55 p.m., police located two males walking near the intersection of Mercer and Forest Streets and arrested both — one in relation to the gunfire, and the other in relation to an armed robbery the day before.

Police found a small amount of suspected marijuana on the 15 year-old. They also found a handgun and red hooded sweat shirt behind the house at 843 Whittier Place NE that may have been involved in the gunfire.
