Teen arrested in Warren after witnesses said he fired weapon
WARREN
A 15-year-old boy was taken into custody Tuesday afternoon after witnesses said he fired a weapon during an altercation with another juvenile on Vine Avenue Northeast.
A witness described the male as wearing a red hooded sweatshirt, and the witness gave police the name of the suspect.
While responding to the call at 2:55 p.m., police located two males walking near the intersection of Mercer and Forest streets and arrested both — one in relation to the gunfire and the other in relation to an armed robbery the day before.
Police found a small amount of marijuana on the 15 year-old. They also found a handgun and red hooded sweatshirt behind the house at 843 Whittier Place NE that may have been involved in the gunfire.
Police were unable to supply information about the aggravated robbery the second male was accused of being involved in, but there was an armed robbery Tuesday in the parking lot of Warren G. Harding High School involving three male suspects that resulted in the arrest of a 14-year-old male.
