UPDATE: State on scene of officer-involved shooting in Lordstown

LORDSTOWN

The Ohio Bureau of Criminal Investigation is on Pleasant Valley Road investigating an officer-involved shooting incident from early this afternoon.

A Lordstown police officer fired at least one time, but no one was hit, said Jill DelGreco, spokesperson for BCI, which is under the jurisdiction of the Ohio Attorney General's Office.

Neighbors reported hearing multiple gunshots around 1 p.m.

DelGreco said Lordstown police were assisting officers with the U.S. Marshal's Service and Immigrations and Customs and Office of the Inspector General in executing a search warrant when the shot or shots were fired.

A federal officer was injured and was taken to the hospital, but the injury didn't result from the gunfire, DelGreco said.
