DIVISION I GIRLS GOLF

Boardman’s Jacinta Pikunas was the top medalist and qualified for the state tournament Tuesday at The Legends of Massillon golf course. Pikunas shot a 70 in the district tournament beating Solon’s Jennifer Wang by one stroke. As a freshman last year, Pikunas tied for 12th at the state tournament. Canfield finished ninth and Boardman 11th.

VOLLEYBALL

Canfield 25-25-25, Howland 6-12-6

CANFIELD

Darby Hepola had 11 kills, Emma Hartshorn had five aces and Morgan Cleevely added nine kills for Canfield (20-1). For Howland, Christian Carr had eight digs, Lexi Miner had eight assists and Faith Grant had three blocks.

Aust. Fitch 25-20-16-25-15, Girard 17-25-25-8-9

GIRARD

Alex Connors had 23 digs, Sarah Obradovich had 26 kills and Katarina Lewis had 30 assists for Austintown Fitch (9-11, 4-7 All-American Conference Red Division). Taylor Bell had 17 kills, Brooke Bada had 13 digs and Mackenzie Olesky added nine kills for Girard (5-14, 1-9 AAC Red).

Struthers 25-25-25, Niles 16-15-7

STRUTHERS

Abby Hughes had 22 assists and Caitlin Kane had 11 kills for Struthers. Katie Julian had 11 assists and Kia Allen had seven digs for Niles.

Marcy Dykes had 21 assists for Liberty. Maleah Schiavone had 14 kills and Amy Mikulech had 25 digs. Miranda Dodrill had 12 kills, 15 blocks and four aces for LaBrae while Mary Horton had 16 points and 22 digs and Allie Middleton had 24 assists. JV: LaBrae, 25-13, 25-14.

CHAMPION

Delaney Saxton had 15 kills, Madison Bonekvic had 15 digs and Katie Bender added 29 assists for Brookfield. Molly Williams had six digs, Lauren Holt had two kills and Ashley Naylor had three assists for Champion.

HANOVERTON

Lynnie Ritter led the Raiders (17-4, 12-1 Inter Tri-County league Tier One) with 13 kills and seven blocks. Lexi Dejantis made 12 kills and four blocks, and scored five points with two aces. Eliza Ganough contributed 12 digs and six points. For the Eagles, Shelby Mix made five kills and two blocks while Claudia Rockhold made six kills and Shanna Miller made 15 assists.

NEW MIDDLETOWN

Callie Ford had 10 kills and 35 passes, Quinn Crowe made 12 kills and Caitlyn Cyrus had 10 blocks for Springfield (11-7, 8-4 ITCL Tier One). Sierra Huff led the Bluejays (3-16) with 10 kills, five blocks and six points and Katelynn Totani had seven kills, three blocks and seven digs. JV: Springfield, 25-16, 25-19.

Peyton Allen led the Rams with 10 kills, a block and 14 digs. Anna Bodo had six kills and three blocks and Madison Blanchard had two kills, a block, two aces and 15 digs. Brooke Harper had 11 kills, 15 digs and four points for Crestview while Sierra Rance had 16 digs and 10 points. Abbie Gallagher had seven kills, one ace and 11 digs. JV: Crestview, 25-12, 25-4.

LISBON

Taylor Siefke led the Blue Devils with had 14 kills, 20 points five aces and five digs. Kimmi Wiggers made nine kills and 12 digs. Karlee Pezzano made 36 assists and six digs while Tiffany Ketchum made 20 digs and scored 13 points with six aces. For the Bulldogs, Kerrigan Wischerman led with 15 digs and 13 points. Jessica Leake had 12 kills and five points while Haileigh Hawk had six kills and five points.

Rachel Maslach had six points, 13 kills, 17 assists and nine digs for Reserve (17-4, 11-0 ITCL Tier Two), while Aleah Hughes had 10 points, one ace, 18 kills and 16 digs and Marissa Phipps had eight points, one ace, 18 assists and four digs. For Southern (12-8), Abby Smalley had seven kills and five digs, Lizzie Willis made six kills with one block and Natalie Utt had three kills, 12 digs and two blocks.

Jayla Martin had 14 kills, Ashley Bennett added eight and Shayna Hamilton contributed 32 assists for the Tigers (18-3, 9-2 ITCL Tier 2). Leetonia (7-12) was led by Eric Gruszeki with 10 kills and 21 digs, Maddie Penfold with 12 serving points and 44 digs and Eryn Jones with nine points and seven digs. JV: Wellsville, 25-17, 25-16.

Pavin Heath had 10 points, two aces and 31 assists and Sydney Townes had 21 kills for West Branch (12-9, 8-5 Northeastern Buckeye Conference). Kaylee Manning added nine digs. JV: Salem 25-19, 25-15.

Kylie Stoneman led the Panthers (13-7, 10-6 Northeastern Athletic Conference) with seven kills, 11 points and five aces. Marlayna Perrine made two blocks while Megan Selesky made nine digs. Ashly Lamosek made 12 assists. JV: Bristol, 25-22, 25-22.

LOWELLVILLE

Shayla Ray made 13 kills and 12 digs while Hannah Hum scored four points with three aces and made 19 digs for the Clippers (11-8). Lauren Schlueter scored eight points and made 18 digs. For the Rockets (6-14), Andi Hrusovsky made eight kills and seven digs and scored five points with two aces. Lex Phillip made 15 digs and Hannah Kulewsky 12. JV: Columbiana won, 2-0.

Kate Wainwright had 29 assists, Madison Spahlinger had 10 points and Gabby Kline added 20 kills for Newton Falls. JV: Newton Falls, 2-1.

Brooke Harper had 14 kills, Sierra Rance had 24 digs and Bri Cope added 41 assists for Crestview (12-6). Shayla Ray had 24 kills, Schlueter had 37 assists and Karly Smith added nine blocks for Columbiana (10-8).

BOARDMAN

Vince Mancini and Zach Stamp each had a goal and an assist for the Spartans (9-6). Anthony Pallante and Chris Dailey also scored goals while Zach Smotzer had an assist. Goalkeepers Brian Fryda made six saves and Kevin Durkin ine in Boardman’s seventh shutout. Jachob Shaffer made 12 saves for Hubbard. JV: Boardman, 3-0.

West Branch 3, Salem 0

BELOIT

Kyle Ziegler had a goal and two assists, Alec Schopfer had a goal and an assist. Zach Robbins also scored for West Branch (10-4-1). Marshall Ney had three saves and Cody Ewing 15.

TENNIS

Hannah Cianciola and Ashley Kaleel (Canfield) will start the Division I district tournament against Magnificant’s Lauren O’Malley and Alexandra Vesikallio. Cianciola and Kaleel earned the No. 4 seed in sectional play. Tournament play begins Thursday at 9 a.m. on the campus of Oberlin College.
