High court rules in case argued by former AG Marc Dann

COLUMBUS (AP) — The Ohio Supreme Court is siding with Bank of America in a foreclosure case in which former Ohio Attorney General Marc Dann represented the homeowners.

At issue was whether the owners had the right to try to vacate the foreclosure judgment. A majority of the justices said they did not.

Dann says he plans to ask the court to reconsider.

The case was Dann’s first before the state’s high court since he was forced from office amid a sexual harassment scandal, convicted of an ethics violation and temporarily stripped of his law license.

It was the type of case Dann relished during his brief tenure as Ohio’s top lawyer. He resigned in May 2008 after a showdown with the state Democratic party, governor and Legislature over his misdeeds.
