Public forums seek input for EGCC presidential profile
Staff report
YOUNGSTOWN
Eastern Gateway Community College will conduct open public forums to gather input for the development of a presidential profile as part of its national presidential search.
Three forums are scheduled Oct. 16 and 17 in the college’s service district.
A consultant from the American Association of Community College Trustees will guide the process of the one-hour public forums to solicit input for use in shaping the presidential profile.
“All members of the communities the college serves and college employees may participate in a free and wide-ranging discussion about the qualities and qualifications we are seeking in our new president and the opportunities and challenges facing Eastern Gateway in the years to come,” said John Gilmore, trustees chairman. “I want to encourage everyone to attend these important forums.”
Refreshments will be served at each forum. The forum schedule includes:
12:30 to 1:30 p.m. Oct. 16 at First Presbyterian Church of Youngstown, Helen Chapel Room, 201 Wick Ave., Youngstown. Parking is available behind the church on Champion Street.
2:30 to 3:30 p.m. Oct. 16 at Das Dutch Village Inn, 150 East State Route 14, Columbiana.
8:30 to 9:30 a.m. Oct. 17 at Fort Steuben Visitors Center, 120 S. Third St., Steubenville.
Gilmore encourages those who cannot attend the forums to contact Julie Golder, ACCT search consultant, 202-775-4466 (office), 202-384-5816 (cellphone), jgolder@acct.org to share thoughts about what information should be included in the presidential profile by 10 a.m. Oct. 17.
