Logan Avenue area hit with another gun crime

WARREN

For the fourth time in a week, the troubled Logan Avenue area has been hit by a gun-related crime.

A Papa John’s pizza-delivery driver reported being confronted at gunpoint when he went to a Logan Avenue Southeast home at 9 p.m. Sunday.

The driver said when he arrived there, a young male yelled, “Hey, Papa John’s.” The driver looked over to see a man pointing a gun at him. The victim sped off, leaving the robber standing in the roadway.

It is believed the suspect was in an older burnt-orange car with large rims, police said.

There was a robbery at a store at the corner of East Market Street and Logan Avenue Northeast late Sept. 29, and a man was charged with felonious assault after he and another man engaged in a gunfight on Logan Avenue Northeast on Wednesday night in a separate incident. The victim suffered only a cut.

The BP gas station a short distance east on East Market Street also was robbed at gunpoint at 5 a.m. Sept. 29.
