cardinal cuisine Fundraiser for scholarship
Cardinal Cuisine is a fundraiser to benefit the Father Popovich Scholarship at Cardinal Mooney High School. The priest, who was seriously injured in a car accident Nov. 12, 2013, and remains in rehabilitation, is a graduate of Mooney and served as associate principal. He also coordinated Masses for the football team and was chaplain for the basketball team. In the Diocese of Youngstown, Father Popovich was pastor of St. Paul the Apostle Church in New Middletown at the time of his accident. He also served at Immaculate Heart of Mary Church in Austintown, St. Lucy Church in Campbell, Assumption Parish in Geneva and St. James Church in Warren. He also was on the faculty at St. Thomas Aquinas High School in Louisville.
When: Cardinal Cuisine is planned at 7 p.m. Friday with DJ Jason Evans.
Where: Cardinal Mooney High School, 2545 Erie St., Youngstown.
Tickets: $20 for a single and $30, a couple. Available at the door or in advance by calling Christine Wolford at CMHS at 330-788-5007 or at the Cardinals Nest store in the school.
Details: The casual event, for adults, will feature samples from Valley restaurants and other food vendors that are donating to the event. They are Antone’s, Bruno’s, Caffe Capri, Charlie Staples, Chipotle, Creekside Country Club, Chrystal’s Catering, Handel’s Ice Cream, Lariccia’s Italian Market, MVR, Manning Engraving, Mocha House, Pita Wrap, Pour House, Phusion Projects, Rust Belt, Sam’s Club, Southway Beverage, Suzie’s Dogs and Drafts, Texas Roadhouse, The Upstairs, Walmart and the Cindy Clemente and Mitzi Smith families.
