Vandals attempt to burn vacant East Side home Sunday

YOUNGSTOWN — Fire reports say someone tried but failed to burn down a vacant 2132 McCartney Road home on the East Side late Sunday evening.

Crews were called to the home about 10:35 p.m. and found a small fire on the front porch. Reports said every room in the house had an empty milk container with gasoline in them. There were a total of seven containers, reports said. Damage is listed at $1,000.
