McKinneys mark 50th anniversary at dinner party

YOUNGSTOWN
Mr. and Mrs. Willie G. McKinney Jr. of Youngstown will be honored for their 50th wedding anniversary with a dinner celebration to take place later this year. Hosts of the event will be their children.
The couple’s children are Zina D. McKinney, Sean T. McKinney, Raquel T. McKinney and Willie G. McKinney III, all of Youngstown, and Monica L. McKinney of Atlanta.
The McKinneys were married Sept. 26, 1964, at Price Memorial A.M.E. Zion Church. They are members of Mount Calvary Pentecostal Church.
Mrs. McKinney, the former Rebecca M. Morgan, is a homemaker. She worked as a department manager in the children’s department of Strouss department store downtown and in the Boardman Plaza from 1961 to 1964 and 1966 to 1971. She also was a department manager at Hills department store from 1971 to 1976. She is a trained beautician who was at the top of her class at Lewis Weinberger and Hill Beauty School.
Mr. McKinney retired in 1993 after more than 30 years as a mechanic/machine operator for General Electric Co. in Youngstown/Warren. He was a member of the U.S. Armed Services from 1964 to 1970.
He received an associate degree and several certifications from Penn Ohio College in mechanical engineering and drafting and an associate degree and certifications in auto/diesel mechanics from New Castle School of Trades.
