Crime spree continues along Warren street
WARREN — For the fourth time in a week, the troubled Logan Avenue area has been hit by a gun-related crime.
A Papa John’s pizza delivery driver reported being confronted at gunpoint when he went to 157 Logan Ave. SE at 9 p.m. Sunday to deliver a pizza.
The driver said when he arrived there, a young male yelled “Hey, Papa John’s.” The driver looked over to see a man pointing a gun at him. The victim sped off, leaving the robber standing in the roadway.
It is believed the suspect was in an older burnt orange car with large rims, police said.
There was a robbery at a store at the corner of East Market Street and Logan Avenue Northeast late Sept. 29, and a man was charged with felonious assault after he and another man engaged in a gunfight on Logan Avenue Northeast on Wednesday night in a separate incident. The victim suffered only a cut.
The BP gas station a short distance east on East Market Street also was robbed at gunpoint at 5 a.m. Sept. 29.
