Arson destroys vacant East Side home on Sunday
YOUNGSTOWN — Fire reports say the cause of a blaze that burned down a 38 S. Bruce St. home on the East Side early Sunday morning was an arson.
Crews were called to the home about 1:40 a.m. after a police officer passing by noticed the house engulfed in flames. Reports said firefighters allowed the home to burn down and protected neighboring homes.
Reports said neighbors told police the home was recently vacated. Damage is listed at $5,370.
