2 new dads on Ohio's statewide ticket
COLUMBUS (AP) — Ohio now has two new fathers among its candidates running for statewide office.
State Treasurer Josh Mandel today announced to campaign supporters the arrival of a son, Judah, now eight days old.
Mandel is a Republican facing Democratic state Rep. Connie Pillich in November in one of the cycle’s closer races. He has featured his 1-year-old daughter, Rosie, and then-pregnant wife in a campaign ad titled “Bright Future.”
Attorney General candidate David Pepper also had a new baby this year.
Five-month-old Jack is pictured on Pepper’s Facebook page and with his parents on a campaign mailer. Pepper has yet to air ads in his bid to unseat incumbent Republican Mike DeWine. DeWine, father of eight and grandfather of 20, features his three grown daughters in a campaign ad.
