Trail race/hike to benefit center

SANDY LAKE, PA.

The Miles for McKeever 5K Trail Race and Hike will take place at 10 a.m. Oct. 19 at McKeever Environmental Learning Center, 55 McKeever Lane.

Runners and hikers are welcome for this race through the scenic woodlands near McKeever. Proceeds benefit the center and will be used for education materials and to maintain trails.

Funds also will be used to further the center’s mission to guide individuals toward developing and maintaining a sustainable relationship between themselves and the natural world in their workplace, residence and recreation.

Awards in the race will be medals for the top three overall males and females. There will be finisher awards for all participants. Post-race refreshments will be available.

The cost is $35, and registrations will be accepted up until the morning of the race. With registration, each participant will receive a long-sleeved T-shirt. Packet pickup will take place from 8:30 to 9:45 a.m. Oct. 19 at McKeever’s Dining Hall.
