Squires mark 71st with family supper

YOUNGSTOWN

Percy M. and Ruth G. Squire of Youngstown marked their 71st wedding anniversary Sept. 28 with a family supper at Bogart’s at Avalon at Buhl Park in Hermitage, Pa.

It was hosted by their children, Dr. Florence S. Coleman of Beavercreek and the Rev. Dr. Carol R. and Percy Squire of Columbus.

The couple also have four grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

The former Ruth G. Gatewood married Mr. Squire Sept. 26, 1943, at Reed’s Chapel A.M.E. Church in Youngstown.

Mrs. Squire is self-employed, and Mr. Squire retired in 1977 from U.S. Steel, where he worked as a stove tender.

The couple are members of Price Memorial A.M.E. Zion Church.
