Southern Illinois 41, South Dakota 10

CARBONDALE, ILL.

Malcolm Agnew ran for three touchdowns, Mark Iannotti threw for another and Southern Illinois scored 31 straight points. Agnew had 128 yards on 26 carries for the Salukis (5-1, 2-0 Missouri Valley Conference). Iannotti finished with 19-of-32 passing for 264 yards. Thomas Kinney kicked two field goals. Agnew’s first score came on an 11-yard run — following Tay Willis’ 75-yard kickoff return — for a 7-3 Southern Illinois lead. South Dakota tied the game 10-10 on a 5-yard run by Jasper Sanders with a minute to play in the first half. But in the second half it was all Southern Illinois, starting with a Kinney field goal, followed by Iannotti’s 32-yard touchdown pass to MyCole Pruitt and two rushing TDs by Agnew early in the fourth. Cameron Walter scored again for the Salukis with 7:14 to play.

Illinois St. 45, South Dakota St. 10

NORMAL, ILL.

Marshaun Coprich ran for a career-best four touchdowns to lead Illinois State to a rout of South Dakota State. Coprich had a 32-yard touchdown run and three more scores from inside the 5. He finished with 24 carries and a career-high 174 yards. It was his fourth consecutive 100-plus yards rushing game. Tre Roberson, who was 7 of 19 for 168 yards passing, threw a 28-yard touchdown pass to Cameron Meredith. Roberson also ran for 151 yards on 14 carries for Illinois State (4-0, 1-0). Zach Lujan was 18 of 30 for 238 yards and threw a 26-yard touchdown pass to Jake Wieneke for South Dakota State (3-2, 0-1). Zach Zenner, the conference’s career rushing leader, had 139 yards on 25 carries for the Jackrabbits.

Indiana St 20, N. Iowa 19

TERRE HAUTE, IND.

Wide receiver Chris O’Leary threw a 38-yard touchdown pass to Gary Owens on a trick play with 2:12 remaining for Indiana State. The Sycamores (4-1, 1-0) led 14-0 early, but gave up 19 straight points before breaking the drought on Owens’ score. Mike Perish’s pass was intercepted on the two-point try. Sawyer Kollmorgen drove Northern Iowa (2-3, 0-1) down to the Sycamore 36, but Michael Schmadeke’s 53-yard field goal attempt was short. Buck Logan and Perish each had first-quarter rushing touchdowns for Indiana State. Owens had six receptions for 79 yards. Kollmorgen had a 5-yard touchdown run and Schmadeke kicked four field goals with a long of 48 yards. Schmadeke’s 30-yarder gave Northern Iowa its first lead. David Johnson had 127 yards rushing for the Panthers.

N Dakota St. 17, W. Illinois 10

MACOMB, ILL.

John Crockett passed for the tying touchdown and ran for the winning score in North Dakota State’s comeback victory. The Bison defense held on fourth-and-3 at the NDSU 36 with 1:07 to play, allowing their offense to run out the clock. Trailing 10-3 in the fourth quarter, Crockett threw a 16-yard scoring pass to quarterback Carson Wentz. After forcing a punt, the Bison got the ball back at WIU’s 35 and Crockett capped the drive with a 7-yard TD run. J.C. Baker ran for 175 yards on 21 carries and a score for WIU (2-4, 0-2). The Bison (4-1, 0-1) capped their opening drive with Adam Keller’s 20-yard field goal.
