Alik Bradford accounted for three touchdowns to lead the Tigers on Friday night. Bradford scored on runs of 24 and 46 yards and threw a 36-yard touchdown to Devon Smith. Wellsville improves to 4-2 overall and 2-1 in Inter Tri-County League, Tier Two play. Jarred Miller scored the lone touchdown for the Rams (1-5, 0-3).
GIRLS TENNIS
Division I
The top-ranked Canfield tennis doubles duo of Hannah Cianciola and Ashley Kaleel suffered two losses in Canton on Saturday. As a result, they’ll enter the Division I girls district tennis tournament as the fourth representative of the district. In the semifinals, they lost to Hoover’s Kaitlin Kaye and Makayla Sutter 6-3, 2-6, 6-4. Then in the third place match, Cianciola and Kaleel fell to Louisville’s Gretchen Groves and Sarah Robbins 6-2, 7-6 (6). Tessa Hill of Jackson won the singles tournament 7-6 (7), 6-2 over Danielle Beyes of Green.
Division II
Poland’s Elise Eckman earned the sectional title Saturday in singles play. In the semifinals, Eckman defeated Allison Christopher (Ursuline) 6-0, 6-0. Eckman beat Kara Thompson (Struthers) 6-1, 6-0 in the finals and is the No. 1 seed for the district tournament. Thompson is the No. 2 seed, Christopher is the No. 3 seed and Gianna Reider (Mooney) is the No. 4 seed. In doubles action, Hallie Yerian and Lizzie Mathews (Mooney) beat Marissa Riccardi and Audrey Schweers (Poland) 6-3, 6-4 in the finals for the top seed. Maria Stroup and Ellie Cole (Warren JFK) defeated Lauren Paczak and Carlie Stein (Lakeview) to earn the No. 3 seed. Riccardi-Schweers are the No. 2 seed and Paczak-Stein are the No. 4 seed. The district tournament starts Friday in Canton.

Gina Peters scored three goals for Cambridge Springs in a blowout win over West Middlesex. Taylor Babb added a pair of goals in the second half, with Rachel Skelton and Same Watson rounding out the scoring. Savannah Risjan and Brenna Digiacomo recorded the shutout for Cambridge Springs. JV: 1-1.
