YOUNGSTOWN
Students considering attending Youngstown State University’s Dana School of Music are invited to a fall open house beginning at 8:30 a.m. Wednesday in Bliss Hall’s first-floor lobby, near the University Theater box office.
Students will have the opportunity to experience a day at Dana by meeting professors and current students; sitting in on vocal and instrumental ensemble rehearsals, student and faculty recitals and other classes. A full day of information and music has been planned to assist students considering an education in music. Audition and admission information will be available as well as scholarship and financial-aid materials.
Students should bring their musical instruments with them as there likely will be time to participate in a variety of ensemble rehearsals.
“The Dana School of Music has provided quality music education for 145 years, producing outstanding alumni in vocal, performance and music education,” said Michael Crist, director of the Dana School of Music. “We are very proud of our history and continuity of educating those who want to pursue music as their life’s work.” He added that the Dana Open House encourages students and their parents to review programs that the Dana School of Music offers, and to obtain information for admission.
No advance registration is necessary. Free parking is available in the M1, Wick Avenue parking deck when students and parents identify themselves as a Dana School of Music open-house attendees.
