The Keelings family will present a concert at 6 p.m. next Saturday at Kinsman Presbyterian Church, 6383 Church St.

Student ministry

WARREN

This weekend, youths in seventh through 12th grades from parishes in Northern Ohio and in the spirit of St. Francis will gather at Christ Episcopal Church to explore their relationship with God’s creatures, big and small, learning how animals help us in caring for and developing our humanity.

Impact, the student ministry of Christ Church, will launch at 7 p.m. Oct. 29.

Students in fifth through 12th grades are invited to the event, which will be a Halloween costume party.

Guest speaker

BOARDMAN

Disciples Christian Church, 565 Boardman-Canfield Road, will host the Rev. Ron Starcher, director of Church Relations for Rescue Ministries of Mahoning County, as guest speaker at 10 a.m. Oct. 12.

His topic will be “Toxic Charity.”

Anointing liturgy

YOUNGSTOWN

Bishop George V. Murry of the Diocese of Youngstown will officiate at an annointing liturgy at 5:30 p.m. Sunday at St. Patrick Church, 1420 Oak Hill Ave.

The sacrament is for those who are in advanced years of age, those recuperating from or preparing for surgery and those with chronic medical conditions.

Groening lecture

The Bruno Groening Circle of Friends will have a 90-minute lecture, featuring Arlene Barkan, leader of the Youngstown and Cleveland Communities, and Internet Children’s Community of North America, at 6 p.m. Thursday at Lord of Life Lutheran Church, 550 N. Broad St.

A short documentary will be shown. Admission is free.

The Circle of Friends is not affiliated with Lord of Life Lutheran Church or any other religion.

Bruno Groening (1906-59) was a German healer who taught about the power of faith in overcoming disease. The Circle of Friends passes on his teachings through information lectures.
