Lariccia Community Center to host Women’s Wellness Retreat
The National Health Association, Publisher of Health Science Magazine (https://www.healthscience.org) is sponsoring the “Inside-Out” Women’s Wellness Retreat on Oct. 26 from 7:30 a.m. until 6:30 p.m. at the Lariccia Community Center at Boardman Township Park.
The event will start with registration and breakfast at and conclude with a spa/tappas dinner by David Armstrong of Cater 2 U with a variety of events, including:
INSIDE-OUT Fitness Sessions - Loree Pankewicz of Studio 24, one of the area’s Pilates, Yoga and Booty Barre instructor. The three sessions teach how to make lasting changes that improve your health from the “INSIDE-OUT.”
Cathy Fisher, creator of “StraightUpFood.com” is flying in from California to share practical cooking skills during her food demonstration about successfully shifting to a healthier lifestyle. Following this food demonstration, lunch will be served using the recipes prepared during Fisher’s food demonstration. Fisher’s website offers free recipes and information on eating a health-promoting, plant based diet free of added salt, oil and sugar. She is also a cooking instructor at True North Health Center and The McDougall Program, both located in Santa Rosa, Calif.
“Women’s wellness involves more than just exercise, more than just eating. It starts from the inside, with a positive healthy attitude about oneself and one’s value. This weekend is about the whole package…beginning the journey to a better you from the inside out,” said Renee DiSalvo, who will give an Inspirational talk at the event.
“We are thrilled to offer this fantastic opportunity for women to recharge their battery without having to travel outside of Valley before the hectic holiday season begins,” said Wanda Huberman, coordinator of the event. “We appreciate The National Health Association for sponsoring this retreat which really helped us to keep the cost down.”
Class is limited to the first 40 RSVP’s so attendees can receive plenty of personal attention and information. Attendees will want to bring a mat, as well as clothing and shoes for outside hiking.
The cost for the retreat, which includes breakfast, lunch and dinner, a cooking demonstration, as well as classes by Loree, is $95 per person. Payment of 50 percent to hold your spot is due by Oct. 5 and should be made out to Wanda Huberman, 4620 Euclid Blvd., Youngstown, Ohio.
