Firefighters answering a call for possible carbon-monoxide poisoning Wednesday called police after finding guns and drugs inside a home in the 2000 block of Russell Avenue.

Police were called about 12:45 p.m. after firefighters answered the call to the home, reports said.

Firefighters told police there were three people in the home when they arrived and they found drugs and cash. Reports said one man, Allante Talley, 21, of Westerville, was moving things out of the house into a vehicle when police arrived, and the owner of the vehicle gave police consent to search it.

Inside the vehicle, officers found a loaded 9 mm Sig Sauer semiautomatic handgun, a bag of suspected heroin, two bags of suspected crack cocaine and $955 in cash as well as a heroin press, a bag of marijuana and a marijuana cigar, reports say.

Police also got a warrant to search the home and found more drugs inside, according to reports.

Talley was arrested on charges of drug abuse, improper handling of a firearm in a motor vehicle, possession of drugs/heroin and possession of drugs/ crack cocaine.

All of the people in the house were examined at a hospital. Two of them — Tevin Wright, 24, and Tia Barnette, 23 — were arrested on charges of possession of drugs/heroin and possession of drug paraphernalia.
