Sci-fi authors will be celebrated
KINSMAN
Joseph Badger School, 7118 state Route 7, will celebrate Kinsman sci-fi authors Edmond Hamilton and his wife, Leigh Brackett, from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Saturday.
Admission is $5 for adults, $3 for children under 12 and free for kids under 6.
The theme is Batman’s 75th anniversary.
At 3 p.m. University of Akron professor James Renner will talk about Brackett’s book “The Long Tomorrow,” and a play based on one of Hamilton’s stories, “The Inn Outside the World,” will begin at 4 p.m., performed by Badger High School students.
There will be art, trivia and costume contests with more than $100 in prizes, plus a create your own superhero contest in art and costume divisions.
