Motorcycle crash this afternoon at Elva and Market Street
A man's condition was unknown after a motorcycle crash this afternoon at Elva and Market Street.
Youngstown Detective Sgt. David Lomax said eyewitnesses and the preliminary report said a man driving a motorcycle was traveling in and out of traffic northbound on Market Street this afternoon.
Lomax did not know the time of the crash.
A red Chevy Sports Utility Vehicle was making a left hand turn from Elva onto Market when the motorcycle hit the side of her car.
There was a line of liquid and glass at the intersection as investigators from Youngstown police observed the crash Wednesday afternoon. The motorcyclist's helmet was among the debris.
He was transported to St. Elizabeth's Health Center from the crash. She told police she would be going to the hospital on her own.
Lomax cautioned drivers to be aware of the current northbound lane closures on Market Street as Youngstown authorities await the arrival of a trooper from the Ohio State Highway Patrol.
We might be here awhile - I'm not sure," Lomax said at about 2:30 p.m. this afternoon.
