Boar’s Head Ladies of St. John’s Episcopal Church, 323 Wick Ave., Youngstown, will serve a chicken dinner from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the church. The meal includes mashed potatoes and gravy, green beans, salad, bread and butter, pie and a beverage. The cost is $7. No reservations are necessary. Holy Family Parish, 2729 Center Road, Poland, will sell cavatelli dinners from 3 to 6:30 p.m. or until sold out. The takeout-only meal will include homemade sauce, two meatballs, tossed salad, bread and butter, and dessert for $9. A smaller portion of cavatelli and one meatball will be available for $5. Fresh homemade pasta fagioli will be $6 per quart, and homemade pasta sauce will be $5 per quart. Place your order, remain in your car and your order will be delivered to you.
THURSDAY
Poland United Methodist Church, 1940 Boardman-Poland Road, will have takeout dinners available from 3:30 p.m. until sold out. The cost is $6. No need to preorder or get out of the car. Drive to the front of the church, and your meal of baked stuffed chicken breast, mashed potatoes and green beans will be ready.
Western Reserve United Methodist Church, 4580 Canfield Road, Canfield, will have a drive-through stuffed chicken breast dinner from 4 p.m. until sold out. The meal costs $8 and includes mashed potatoes, gravy, green beans and brownie.
FRIDAY
Canfield Lions Club will have a fish fry from 4:30 to 7:30 p.m. at A La Cart Catering, 429 Lisbon St., Canfield. Meals include a choice of baked or fried fish; french fries, macaroni and cheese, pirogi or haluski; and coleslaw, green beans, roll, dessert and beverage. The cost is $11.
Christ the Good Shepherd at St. Joseph the Provider Church, 633 Porter Ave., Campbell, will sell potato, prune and kraut pirogi for $6 per dozen. Phone orders may be made beginning at 8 a.m. at 330-755-1316, and orders can be picked up starting at noon. Patrons are asked to provide their own containers. No walk-in orders will be available.
Holy Trinity Serbian Orthodox Church, 53 Laird Ave., Youngstown, will serve fish dinners from 3:30 to 7 p.m. at the church hall. The menu will consist of baked or fried Icelandic cod or fried haddock; sides of Spanish rice, haluski, macaroni and cheese, french fries or string beans (choose two); coleslaw or applesauce; bread and butter; and coffee or tea. The cost is $10 for adults and $5 for children. Dessert will be an additional $1.50. Containers will be provided for takeouts. Orders will be accepted from 11 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. at 330-792-1005.
Holy Trinity Ukrainian Catholic Church Hall, 526 W. Rayen Ave., Youngstown, will take orders for packaged cold potato and potato with kraut pirogi for $6 per dozen. Orders should be placed from 9:30 to 11 a.m. Thursday at 330-746-9528 and are to be picked up between 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. Friday.
St. Paul the Apostle Church, 10143 Main St., New Middletown, will sell potato, sweet cabbage and cottage cheese pirogi for $5.50 a dozen. Orders can be called to 330-542-3525 from 7 to 11 a.m. Thursday and Friday. Pickup will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friday. Walk-ins are welcome.
St. Stanislaus Church, 430 Williamson Ave., Youngstown, will sell potato, kraut and cottage cheese pirogi. Advance orders will be taken at 330-747-3024 from 8 to 11 a.m. Pickup will be from 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. The cost is $6 per dozen. Pirogi lunches will be served from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Walk-in orders are welcome.
SATURDAY
Bethel Lighthouse Ministries, 1543 Himrod Ave., Youngstown, will sell chicken dinners, barbecue or plain, from 9 a.m. until sold out. The cost is $10 for a dinner or $6 for a sandwich. Funds will be used to repair the roof. Donations are tax-deductible
New Hope United Methodist Church, 21 Fairview Ave., Niles, will have a roast beef dinner with a salad and dessert bar from 4 to 6:30 p.m. The cost is $10 for adults and $4 for children 5 to 12,; kids under 4 eat for free.
Vienna United Methodist Church, 4265 Warren-Sharon Road, will host a Swiss steak dinner from 4 to 6 p.m. The meal includes mashed potatoes and gravy, green beans, coleslaw, applesauce, bread and butter, beverage and homemade dessert. Takeouts will be available. Adult dinners will cost $9 and children 5 to 12 will pay $5. Those under 4 will eat for free. The church is handicap-accessible.
SUNDAY
First Christian Church, 140 E. Broadway Ave., Girard, will host a soup, salad and strawberry social from noon to 3 p.m. The cost is $7 and includes vegetable soup, chicken noodle soup or chili, strawberry shortcake and other desserts.
St. James the Apostle Church, 4019 Route 422, Pulaski, Pa., will serve a breakfast brunch from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. The menu consists of French toast with sweet cheese filling; buttermilk and buckwheat pancakes with maple or apple syrup; scrambled eggs, plain or with peppers, onions and cheese; home fries; bacon, sausage and ham; toast and cinnamon rolls; hot and cold cereals; and coffee, tea, juices and milk. The cost is $8 for adults and $4 for children.
St. Patrick Church, 1420 Oak Hill Ave., Youngstown, will resume its monthly Sauce and Songs from 11:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. in the church social hall. Dinners will comprise spaghetti, salad, bread, dessert and beverage for $8 for adults and $5 for children 10 and under. Carryouts will be available, and containers will be provided. Bethel Lutheran Church, 425 Crestview Drive, Boardman, is planning its annual International Buffet on Oct. 25.There will be seatings at 4:30 and 6:30 p.m. The cost will be $15 for adults and $6 for ages 6 to12; children 5 and under eat for free. Greenford Ruritan Club will host a pancake breakfast and basket raffle from 7 to 11 a.m. Oct. 25 at South Range School cafeteria, 11300 Columbiana-Canfield Road, Canfield.
