Chrysler reports 19 percent sales increase from last year

AUBURN HILLS, MIch.

Chrysler Group LLC reported an increase of 19 percent for U.S. sales compared with sales in September 2013.

Last month Chrysler sold 169,890 units compared to 143,017 units last September — making last month the group’s best September sales since 2005.

Some highlights for Chrysler include the 54th-consecutive month of year-over-year gains. Chrysler, Jeep, Ram Truck and FIAT brands each posted sales gains last month; the Jeep brand saw sales up 47 percent from last September and the brand had the best September sales month ever. Ram pickup truck sales were up 30 percent and Chrysler 200 sales were up 15 percent to make last month the best September ever for the vehicle.
