Olsons celebrate 50th year with Alaska vacation

Jim and Shirley Olson of Liberty celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary Nov. 25.

A trip to Alaska in 2013 was part of the celebration.

The couple’s family consists of Sharon (Charles) North of McLean, Va.; Jo Ann (James) Brady of Kansas City, Mo.; and Wanda (Matt) Yerkey of Salem.

Their grandchildren are Erica and Sarah North, John, Joseph and Chris Brady, and Sarah, Ryan and Avery Yerkey.

A grandson, Blair, is deceased.

Mr. Olson retired from the Warren City Schools, where he taught mathematics and computer literacy.

Mrs. Olson retired from Liberty Township Police Dept., where she worked as the records and police chief’s secretary.

Mr. Olson and the former Shirley Clouser were married Nov. 25, 1964, at Church Hill United Methodist Church.
