Family, Boanos celebrate golden anniversary

Robert and Anne Boano of Poland celebrated their 50th anniversary with a family dinner on Thanksgiving at the Poland home of their son and daughter-in-law.

The couple’s children are Robert (Theresa) of Poland, Ronald (Janine) of Austintown and Lori (Tony) Ficorilli of Wheaton, Ill.

The Boanos have seven grandchildren, Bob, Rachel, Ryan, Dominic, Joey, Sophia and Olivia. Their eighth grandchild is expected in a few months.

Mr. Boano and the former Anne Simich were married Nov. 28, 1964, at St. Nicholas Church in Struthers. They are members of Holy Family Church.

Mrs. Boano worked at the former Wittenauer’s Pharmacy and Gift Shop.

Mr. Boano retired in 2002 from the U.S. Postal Service. He served in the U.S. Army from 1959 to 1962.
