Nativity display

VILLA MARIA, PA.

Sisters of the Humility of Mary will sponsor the annual Nativity display from noon to 5 p.m. next Saturday, Dec. 7, 13 and 14 at Villa Maria Community Center. Complimentary refreshments will be served. Group tours are available upon request.

The event also will include entertainment from musicians, choirs and a bell choir. The Villa Farm will sell poinsettias, swags and wreaths, and The Villa Shoppe will offer Fair Trade items, Nativities and Christmas gifts.

A roast beef dinner will be from noon to 4 p.m. Dec. 7 and spaghetti dinner from noon to 4 p.m. Dec. 14. Tickets can be purchased at the door. Take-out is available, and children 7 and younger eat free. Visit humilityofmary.org or call 724-964-8920, ext. 3348.

Guided tour

WARREN

A Journey to Bethlehem is planned from 4 to 7 p.m. Dec. 7 at Central Christian Church, 2051 E. Market St.

Visitors will be greeted by Roman Guards and enrolled. Guides will lead groups of 8-10 people to meet angels who show them the star to follow, King Herod, shepherds, three wisemen and Holy Family. There will be a different baby each hour as a church family will be there with their 2-month-old triplets.

After hearing a Scripture reading, visitors will go fellowship hall for refreshments. Guides will lead groups every 20 minutes with the last one at 6:40. Reservations are encouraged for families/groups of five or more. Call the church office at 330-372-1676.

Human-rights event

AUSTINTOWN

Church Women United will host a human rights event Dec. 13 at West Austintown United Methodist Church, 6749 Mahoning Ave. Registration will be at 9 a.m. followed by breakfast and the program at 10. The Rev. Gena Thornton and Shirley Megown will be honored for their human-rights work.

Cost is $6, which may be paid at the door. Breakfast reservations are due by next Saturday by calling Megown at 330-792-4117.

Festival of carols

YOUNGSTOWN

The choir of Sts. Peter and Paul Ukrainian Orthodox Church, 1025 N. Belle Vista Ave., will present a Festival of Carols, a concert of traditional Ukrainian and American carols sung in Ukrainian and English, at 6 p.m. next Saturday in Sts. Peter and Paul pavilion.

Refreshments will be served. An offering will be taken for the Second Harvest Food Bank of Mahoning Valley.

Advent series

BOARDMAN

Christian Formation Commission of St. Charles Borromeo Church, 7345 Westview Drive, will present an Advent series from 7:40 to 8:15 a.m. Wednesdays in the Matthew Room. A continental breakfast will be provided. For information, call 330-758-2325.

Advent festival

CANFIELD

Canfield United Methodist Church will host an Advent Family Festival at 6:30 p.m. Dec. 7 with a service led by the Rev. Susan Brown. The Joyful Praise Children’s Choir will present a Christmas pageant.

The program will include a toy drive supporting Operation Blessing, and those attending are asked to bring a new toy suitable for an infant to age 12.

There will be fellowship over cookies and cocoa.
