Joseph E. and Yvonne Bratek of Campbell are announcing the engagement of their son, Joseph J. Bratek of Canonsburg, Pa., and Ashley Jacobson of Washington, Pa. Her parents are Gerald F. Jr. and Annette Jacobson of Washington.
The couple will exchange vows Aug. 22, 2015, at Holy Trinity Serbian Orthodox Cathedral in Pittsburgh. A reception will follow at Hilton Garden Inn Pittsburgh-Southpointe in Canonsburg. Invitations will be issued for both events.
The bride-elect graduated from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro with bachelor’s degrees in international business and economics. She is director of ocean and air operations for Westar International Forwarders in Carnegie, Pa.
Her fiancé graduated from Youngstown State University with a bachelor’s degree in history. He is a buyer for Caterpillar Global Mining in Houston, Pa. He served as a captain in the U.S. Army from 2007 to 2012 and during Operation Enduring Freedom in 2009 and 2010.
