With gay marriage, as in other areas, judgment brings pain

Once again the subject of gay marriage is receiving attention. While God created man and woman to express their love and bear children, God also created people of different races and nationalities and in His eyes are all equal and are His children.

I believe as human beings, God expects us to have love, compassion, tolerance, kindness, and a generous spirit for our fellow man.

Every human being should have the right to live their life the way they want as long as they do not harm or hurt themselves or others.

A baby is born and its body is washed and dressed and placed into a crib or bassinet. For the amount of time God gives that baby on earth and calls for that life to come home, that body will be touched, dressed and placed inside a coffin. No matter what that person may have acquired — money or material things — the only thing being laid to rest is the body of the deceased. His soul will be judged by God who created him or her.

As a heterosexual woman I do not believe a person is evil because they love someone of the same sex. Sad that there are some who fail to understand that because a person is gay, it does not make them less of a human being. Perhaps they believe “to thyself be true.” It is far better to live a good, truthful life than living a lie and dooming oneself to darkness.

I find it strange that those who so strongly oppose gay marriages show no concern for the high divorce amount in our country.

I’ve heard it said people who find and seek good in others, find comfort and peace in themselves. Too often judgments cause more pain than cures.
