A checklist of local, state and federal institutions and local businesses closed various days for Thanksgiving. Residents of communities not listed should check their governmental office schedules.

City offices: Youngstown, Salem, closed Thursday ; Warren, Niles, Sharon, New Castle, Newton Falls Municipal Court, closed Thursday and Friday.

County offices: Mahoning, Columbiana, closed Thursday; Trumbull, Mercer, Lawrence, closed Thursday and Friday.

All state offices: Ohio Bureau of Job and Family Services offices, closed Thursday.

Federal offices: U.S. Post Office, Youngstown and Warren, closed Thursday; Federal Bankruptcy Court, District Court, closed Thursday and Friday.

Schools: Youngstown Diocese, closed Thursday and Friday; Youngstown, Warren, Niles, Salem, closed today through Friday; New Castle, closed today through Monday; Sharon, closed Thursday through Monday.

Universities: Youngstown State, closed Thursday and Friday; Kent State at Trumbull, early closing at 5 p.m. today; closed Thursday and Friday.

Western Reserve Transit Authority (WRTA): closed Thursday; regular schedule resumes Friday.

Public libraries: Youngstown-Mahoning County, Newton Falls Public Library, closed Thursday; Warren-Trumbull, McKinley Memorial Library — Niles, Hubbard Public Library, early closing 5 p.m. today and closed Thursday; Bristol Public Library — Bristolville, early closing at noon today and closed Thursday and Friday; Kinsman Free Public Library, closed Thursday through Saturday; Girard Free Library, closed today through Sunday.

Stock market: Stifel Nicolaus, closed Thursday and early closing at 1 p.m. Friday.

Banks: Chase Bank, Charter One, Cortland Banks, Farmers National Bank, First National Bank, Talmer Bank, Warren, Home Federal Savings & Loan, Niles, Home Savings & Loan, Huntington Bank, Austintown, Key Bank, PNC Ohio, PNC Pennsylvania, closed Thursday.

Trash collection: Allison Brothers Inc., Allied Waste, Waste Management, Warren City Environmental Services, Waste-Tech Services, Youngstown Residential, closed Thursday, services delayed one day.
