Campbell appoints two athletic directors

Campbell Board of Education voted to appoint Brian Nichols and Brad Yeager as joint athletic directors for the school district for the remainder of the 2014-2015 school year during a special meeting Tuesday night.

Superintendent Matt Bowen said Frank Pinciaro, the school district’s former athletic director, retired this fall. Bowen said Pinciaro had been the school’s athletic director for four years and he had served as a teacher in the school district since 1975.

“[Pinciaro] had done a lot for the district,” Bowen said. “He built many strong relationships here as a teacher, all which helped him when he was athletic director the past four years.”

Nichols is a 10th grade English teacher at Campbell and Yeager is the assistant high school principal.

The athletic director position salary is $12,000. Members of the board of education said the salary will be divided equally between Nichols and Yeager.

Bowen added that the athletic director position is a one-year, supplemental position. He said anyone in the position can re-apply for it the next school year.
