Man sentenced in time-share fraud scheme

CHARLESTON, W.Va. (AP) — A Charleston man has been sentenced to two-and-a-half years in federal prison for a time-share property fraud scheme.

U.S. Attorney Booth Goodwin says 47-year-old David Andrew Glynn also was ordered to pay more than $97,000 in restitution during his sentencing in federal court in Charleston.

According to court records, Glynn admitted setting up a company named Mountain State Resales LLC. Time-share owners were told that the company had buyers for their properties and were asked to send fees and expenses necessary to complete the sales.

Glynn also posed as an agent of a fictitious entity investigating time-share fraud schemes and asked victims of prior schemes to send money to assist with recovery efforts.
