Ex-WVa police analyst pleads guilty to child porn

CHARLESTON, W.Va. (AP) — A former West Virginia State Police forensic analyst has pleaded guilty to possession of child pornography.

U.S. Attorney Booth Goodwin says 48-year-old Jeffrey Erra Osborne of Clendenin entered his plea Monday. Osborne faces up to 20 years in prison when he is sentenced on Feb. 10.

Osborne worked for the state police for 21 years. According to Goodwin, pictures of children engaged in sexual acts were found on Osborne’s personal computer at his home in January.

As part of a plea agreement, Osborne will abandon certain computers, hard drives, and electronic storage devices seized from him at the time of the execution of the search warrant.
