WARREN

A man who police say broke into a Starlight Drive Northwest home just before midnight Saturday was shot to death, according to Vindicator news partner 21 WFMJ-TV.

A 29-year-old man who lives at the home also was being treated at a hospital for a gash to his head, WFMJ reported.

It was unclear where the intruder was shot. The Trumbull County Coroner’s Office is expected to perform an autopsy today.

Hubbard robbery

An armed robber got away with some cash after a Sunday afternoon robbery of Michele’s Mart, 1837 Brookfield Road.

Police were called to the store about 1:35 p.m. after the man, who was armed with a handgun, came in and demanded money, a supervisor at the Trumbull County 911 Center said.

Vindicator news partner 21 WFMJ-TV said the owner of the store was holding her infant at the time of the robbery. The robber also was wearing a mask, reports said. Police searched for the robber but could not find him.

Wanted on warrants

YOUNGSTOWN

Police pulled over a car driven by 26-year-old Marcus Williams of Youngstown about 1:30 a.m. Sunday for an improper lane change in the 300 block of Cohasset Avenue and found out he has four open suspensions on his license and also is wanted on five warrants.

Reports said the warrants are from the Mahoning County Sheriff’s Office on two counts of robbery, two counts of felonious assault and a single count of kidnapping.

Williams was taken to the Mahoning County jail.

Car hits garage

YOUNGSTOWN

Police made an arrest after a car struck a garage in the 300 block of Greenwood Avenue on the West Side about 3:50 p.m. Sunday.

Firefighters also were called to the home because smoke was coming from the car.

There were no injuries.

Also Sunday, a motorcyclist was taken to St. Elizabeth Youngstown Hospital after his motorcycle struck the rear of a car on Youngstown-Hubbard Road. A report for that incident was not available late Sunday, but a police spokesman said the motorcycle driver was in stable condition.
