Pa. dog licenses go on sale Dec. 1

Dog licenses for 2015 will be available for purchase starting Dec. 1 for dogs age 3 months or older.

The Lawrence County Treasurer’s office will mail dog-license applications to owners within the next week.

The 2015 licenses are available for purchase at the treasurer’s office at 430 Court St.; Critter Corner at 1001 Wilmington Ave.; or Grand Paws at 523 Lawrence Ave., Ellwood City.

Licences also can be purchased online at www.padoglicense.com, with an additional third-party convenience fee of $2 per license.

The regular license fee is $8.50, or $6.50 if the dog is spayed or neutered; for senior citizens or people with a disability, the cost is $6.50, or $4.50 if the dog is spayed or neutered.

The treasurer’s office reminds dog owners that the nonemergency department of 911 will back the treasurer’s office to assist residents in finding a lost licensed dog.

The nonemergency phone number is 724-656-9300, and it will be available after hours, weekends and holidays should any resident need to obtain information on finding a lost dog. The treasurer’s office still can be reached at 724-656-2123 from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday.

The back of all 2015 dog licenses will be stamped with the nonemergency and treasurer’s office phone numbers.
