Thanksgiving services are planned at area churches. Thanksgiving Day is Thursday, Nov. 27.

Christian Bible Baptist Church, 2369 Oak St. Ext., Youngstown: Service at 10 a.m. Thursday, Thanksgiving Day, with Pastor Keith A. Neal.

Coalburg United Methodist Church, 1666 Wick Campbell Road, Hubbard: Hubbard Christians in Action community Thanksgiving service at 7 p.m. Tuesday.

Emmanuel Lutheran Church, 13519 Woodworth Road, New Springfield: Community service by Springfield Township Council of Community Churches at 7 p.m. Wednesday.

Grace United Methodist Church, 1725 Drexel Ave. NW, Warren: Combined service at 7 p.m. Wednesday with Covenant and Calvary Presbyterian churches. The service will include a message, prayers of praise and thanks and the music of the combined choirs.

Greater Friendship Baptist Church, 646 Lakewood Ave., Youngstown: The Rev. James C. Bowie, pastor, will conduct the annual Thanksgiving service at 7 p.m. Wednesday. Speaker will be the Rev. William C. King, pastor of Price Memorial African Methodist Episcopal Church.

Heritage Presbyterian Church, 1951 Mathews Road, Poland: Poland community Thanksgiving worship service at 7 p.m. Sunday with Pastor Reid Lambert of Church of the Rock as preacher. Host pastor is the Rev. Kristin Stroble. Other Poland congregations participating are Holy Family, Prince of Peace Lutheran, Poland Presbyterian and Poland United Methodist. The offering will be donated to Poland Community Food Pantry. A combined choir practice will be at 6 p.m. Fellowship will follow the service.

Martin Luther Lutheran Church, 420 Clearmount Drive, Youngstown: Thursday, Thanksgiving Day, worship service of praise and thanksgiving at 10 a.m.

Redeemer Lutheran Church, 2305 S. Canfield-Niles Road, Austintown: Thanksgiving eve worship service at 7 p.m. Wednesday.

Trinity Lutheran Church, 56 N. Chestnut St., Niles: Community service at 7 p.m. Tuesday

Unity Centre for Spiritual Living, 1226 Naylor Lloyd Road, Liberty: Service at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday with the Rev. Ric Schumacher.

Westminster College, New Wilmington, Pa.: The Office of Faith and Spirituality will host a community Thanksgiving worship service featuring pastors from area churches at 7 p.m. Sunday in Wallace Memorial Chapel. The service is open to the public. The Rev. Tom Gomola, pastor of Leesburg Presbyterian Church, will speak on “For What Are We Thankful?” Other participants will be the Rev. John Grusendorf, pastor of New Wilmington Alliance Church; the Rev. Jim Mohr, college chaplain; the Rev. William Stone, pastor of Neshannock Presbyterian Church; the Rev. Rick Vogeley, interim pastor of New Wilmington Presbyterian Church; and Charissa Mikoski and Adam Stahon, students. Music will be provided by the Second Chance Praise Team. Student quartet, including Abigail Miles, Erin Kennedy, Chloe Knappenberger and Rachel Read will perform “Be Thou My Vision.” Those attending are asked to give to the canned good and donation drive.
