YOUNGSTOWN

A family-friendly variety show will be Nov. 28 at 7 p.m. in Ursuline High School’s Deibel-Morley Arts Center on Bryson Street. Proceeds from the annual event benefit the Dom Leone Writing Competition.

Headlining the list of entertainers will be Spurs of the Moment, a local country and standards band. Other performers will include students from the Finelli School of Dance, the DellArco Sisters, the Kevin and Christopher comedy duo, and some surprise regional artists.

The event will include a silent auction. Random readings of past years’ writing contest winners will be given.

Admission is $5 ($3 for students, free for children).

For information, call Carmen Leone at 330-755-0633.

The Dom Leone Writing Competition occurs annually for students in Youngstown area parochial schools, in memory of Dom Leone, a published fiction writer, songwriter, poet and cartoonist from Youngstown who died of cancer in 1989. It is sponsored by Leone’s family and friends.
