Relay Team sets annual wreath sale

The Relay Team of Good Hope Lutheran Church is sponsoring its annual wreath sale.

The 22-inch pine wreaths come with a red velvet bow; the cost is $15.

Wreaths are made by Rodgers’ Pine Hill Farm in New Castle, Pa.

Wreaths will be available for pickup after Dec. 6.

Charity raffle prize to be popular doll

Canfield Operation Blessing is selling raffle tickets for an Innerstar My American Girl Doll in the original box. Go to innerstar.com to see the details of the doll.

Tickets, which cost $1 each or six for $5, will be sold from Monday through Dec. 9. Purchase locations are Canfield Presbyterian Church office from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Dec. 9; at the church’s west side door from 5 to 7 p.m. Monday and Tuesday, Dec. 3 and 4, and Dec. 8 and 9; and at the office at Austintown Rulli Bros. from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday through Dec. 9.

The drawing will be Dec. 11. The winner need not be present.

Contestants must be 18 or older, have proper I.D. and take the winning ticket to pick up the prize at the church.

Proceeds will purchase food for the church pantry.

Photo contest winners announced

Three photos emerged as winners in the contest run by the Lawrence County Tourist Promotion Agency.

The first-place winner, “Civil War Encampment,” depicted the cannon re-enactment during the McConnell’s Mill Heritage Festival. Lillie Dregseth of New Castle, Pa., is the photographer.

“Balloon Fest,” which captured hot-air balloons in the sky during the Western Pa. Balloon Quest, was the second-place winner. It was taken by Ted Stram of Bessemer, Pa.

Michelle Brzuz of Grove City, Pa., won third place for her photo “Peacock Pride,” of an animal from Living Treasures Wild Animal Park.

Honorable mention went to Cindy Welch of Edinburg, Pa., for her image “Amish Sunday.”
