Ohio's October unemployment rate down

COLUMBUS (AP) — Ohio’s unemployment rate was down slightly to 5.3 percent for October.

The Department of Job and Family Services released last month’s figures today.

The unemployment rate had held steady at 5.7 percent in July and August, then dropped to 5.6 percent for September. The Ohio unemployment rate was slightly better than the national rate, which was 5.9 percent for September.

Last year’s October unemployment rate was 7.5 percent.
