The Austintown library hosted its monthly Bots N Pieces scrapbooking program on Nov. 12.

“It’s almost like a book club, is what we want to do,” Austintown library adult services librarian Lindsay Platt said. “People can come and share ideas and if they want to bring their own tools and things like that and share, that would be great because we’re kind of limited.

“I just thought it would be a fun way for people to come to the library and interact with the people with the same interests.”

The program is in danger of being discontinued, however, as there has been no attendance since the event was started in September.

Platt put out all the materials needed to scrapbook on a table in the library’s meeting room, such as yarn, paper, tape, markers, glue, stickers, glitter, ribbons, paperclips and several different kinds of scissors that each cuts paper in a different design.

Platt said she hopes that soon the library can supply the stock paper. It only currently offers construction paper.

Platt was asked what people can gain by participating in the program.

“Memories and just the fun of doing it. It’s a lot of fun,” she said.
