ALLIANCES

Ohio Cultural Alliance will meet at 6 p.m. Dec. 1 at St. Charles Church social hall on Route 224 in Boardman. Bishop George Murry will address the theme “Going Places with the Ohio Cultural Alliance: The Vatican.” A catered meal will be served, and cultural enrichment will be provided by the Wade Raridon Singers. Membership for this 14-month transitional 2014-2015 year remains at $25 per person, and the cost for each meeting will remain at $15 for each paid-up member and $20 for each nonmember. Reservations may be mailed to OCA, Box 561, Canfield, OH 44406 and must be received no later than Wednesday. Those attending are encouraged to take nonperishable food items, which will be given to the St. Columba Food Pantry.

Goldwing Road Rider Association Chapter M Ohio will meet Saturday at The Yankee Kitchen, Market Street, beginning with dinner at 5 p.m.

CLUBS

Canfield Republican Women’s Club will have a Christmas Celebration luncheon at noon Dec. 3 at A La Cart Catering, Lisbon Street, Canfield. The meal consists of caesar salad, herbed chicken in puff pastry, California vegetable blend and spumoni with cookie. The cost is $12 per person. LIBRARY FRIENDS

Friends of the Austintown Branch of the Library, 600 S. Raccoon Road, will meet at 10 a.m. Monday. The guest speaker will be Jim Avey, who has started a collection of Idora Park items. Anyone interested in attending the Christmas party can sign up at this month’s meeting. The group meets on the fourth Monday of each month with a variety of speakers. Youngstown South Christian Women’s Connection will have a “Christmas on the Water” luncheon 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Dec. 10 at Avion on the Water, 2177 W. Western Reserve Road, Canfield. Billie Cash of Collierville, Tenn., will be guest speaker and will provide music. Bill Rotar will be featured as Santa. The cost, including lunch, is $13. Girard-Liberty Kiwanis will meet at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Golf Dome, 1300 N. State St., Girard.

Kiwanis Club of Western Mahoning County meets each Wednesday at 6 p.m. at A La Catering, 429 Lisbon St., Canfield. Guests and new members are welcome. Members have teamed with the Downtown Kiwanis Club of Youngstown to distribute food baskets to families at Thanksgiving.

D.A.R.E. SOCIETIES

Audubon Society of the Mahoning Valley invites the public to a presentation, “Birding by Habitat,” by Cheryl Harner of the Greater Mohican Audubon Society, at 7 p.m. Tuesday at Mill Creek MetroParks Farm in Canfield. SUPPORT GROUPS

Alzheimer Network Family Support Group will meet at 1:30 p.m. Monday at Easter Seals Adult Day Care Center, 721 Boardman-Poland Road, Boardman, and at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday at Emmanuel Lutheran Education Building, 251 S.
