Beloit man indicted on meth charges

YOUNGSTOWN — A Mahoning County grand jury has indicted a Beloit man on charges of illegal assembly or possession of chemicals for the manufacture of methamphetamine and methamphetamine possession.

Indicted Thursday was Robert Uyselt, 44, of 1st Street, who authorities said committed the crimes in September.

The grand jury declined to indict Uyselt on an obstructing justice charge.

The Ohio Adult Parole Authority and Goshen and Sebring police went to Uyselt’s residence Sept. 12 because the APA was investigating a possible parole violation and a report of a meth lab at that address.

Uyselt admitted using meth daily, making meth there until July, and possessing meth and pseudoephedrine, and was arrested, police said. Police said they found pseudoephedrine and a crystal powder believed to be meth on the premises.
