Barnes & Noble to host short fiction celebration

Area short story writers are invited to participate in the “Celebrate Short Fiction” Day event at Barnes & Noble Booksellers in Boardman on Dec. 21 from 1-4 p.m.

Area short story writers who would like a chance to read their work aloud are invited to be part of “Celebrate Short Fiction.” Hosted by Nancy Christie, author of “Traveling Left of Center and Other Stories,” the event is designed to focus attention on the short fiction literary form, with local fiction writers having the opportunity to share their work with bookstore patrons.

“Romance, juvenile, sci-fi, slice-of-life or literary fiction — as long as it’s suitable for the general public, it’s ideal for this year’s ‘Celebrate Short Fiction’ Day event,” said Christie. “It’s a win-win for everyone: writers reach more readers and attendees get to enjoy quality short fiction while taking a much-needed break from the holiday hustle and bustle.”

For more information or to register as a participant, writers should contact Christie via email at nancy@nancychristie.com or by phone at 330-793-3675. More information about “Celebrate Short Fiction” Day is available at tinyurl.com/m77vdpb.
