Thanksgiving Dinners Free meals available

Calvary United Methodist Church, 12062 South Ave., North Lima: Free Thanksgiving dinner next Thursday with serving times at 11 a.m. or noon. Reservations required, contact the church office at 330-549-2588.

EB Family Life Center, 7 S. Garland Ave., Youngstown: At 11 a.m. today, Elizabeth Baptist Church will have a Thanksgiving food giveaway to 150 families. There also will be a meal. For information, contact LaDonna Walker at 330-518-6249.

First Presbyterian Church of Youngstown, 201 Wick Ave.: Free sit-down Thanksgiving dinner for the community, 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. today. Meal will include turkey with stuffing, mashed potatoes, vegetable, cranberry sauce, rolls, dessert and beverage. Live entertainment in the church sanctuary will be provided while guests wait to be served. This is the church’s 34th Thanksgiving dinner for the community.

Living Testimony Ministries, 34 Jacobs Road, Youngstown: Free Thanksgiving meal from noon to 3 p.m. Monday.

Nevels Temple Church of God in Christ, 939 Elm St., Youngstown: Thanksgiving trimmings/sides giveaway 2 to 4 p.m. Saturday to include corn, green beans, mashed potatoes, stuffing, cranberry sauce, cornbread and punch. Available to first 100 people who attend.

Salvation Army, 1501 Glenwood Ave., Youngstown: The Salvation Army will serve a free community Thanksgiving Dinner from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Wednesday at its Youngstown headquarters, 1501 Glenwood Ave. The dinner is free to the public and available to anyone who is in need. In 2013, the organization served 700 Thanksgiving meals, and they hope to serve the same or surpass that number this year. The Salvation Army still needs 50 fresh or frozen turkeys for the event; any donations of turkeys can be dropped off at the Youngstown office Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. any time before Monday.
